LOVE: A CURE TO THE WORLD'S SICKNESS

Today, we live in a world where individualism is constantly promoted. People are encouraged to live in their own worlds without having anything to do with the other person. Technology itself as a human invention came along with its perks and further gave strength to that individualistic life; our phones, social media platforms and work help to make our lives busy and we virtually have no time to go out of our way to make new friends, check up on old ones or develop new, healthy habits.
With us, humans, enveloped completely by this individualistic life, we love and care only for ourselves, not giving two hoots about the other person. Our decisions, values and lifestyles revolve around the lack of love we exhibit and center solely around our lives and needs.
This pattern of lifestyle transcends to our government and policies, thereby affecting the quality of decisions and foreign policies leaders make. This has accounted for many woes the world has seen in the past decades. Speak about the World Wars, if others were put first before oneself, then maybe some of these events would have been avoided.
This reminds of the golden words of Christ in Acts 20:35; ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’. Until we learn to give more and more love out than we expect or even receive, we will never be satisfied with the quality of life we lead and we would continue to seek ways out of the self-caused problems we encounter daily.
Love is the key. We live only when we love. We can only truly live life fully when we experience love. A person that loves is not caught up in the situations that concern him or her alone, but seeks to provide solutions to the ones that concern others too.
Love is not a non-essential. It is not a choice to be ignored. It is a necessity by which one lives by. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can compensate for the lack of it.

Show me a place filled with true love and I will show you where the truest people are found.
When we start to see love, not as an option, but as an indispensable life quality, we begin to radiate that love in our society and affect it to change for the better.
