WOMAN LIKE LISA NICHOLS

Hey revered ones, thank you for always stopping by to read up posts here, you all are the Real MVPs!!! God bless you! We promise to always make the few minutes spent here worthwhile.
Today, I’ll be sharing a short story of a woman named Lisa Nichols and some snippets from an interview she had with ``Inside The Quest’’. Her life story is a profound one of life transformation and I trust you’re going to have an amazing time reading this. Enjoy!
Lisa Nichols grew up on rough turf between two warring gangs in South Los Angeles, never got above a C in school, because she had a disease called dyslexia(a disability in which a person finds it difficult to read and write). At 27, she found herself raising a child whose father was imprisoned while the baby was 3months old.

She lived on government assistance with less than $12 in her bank account. She found a job running the Family Resource Centre for the LA Unified School District. With each paycheck, she would save money to fund a dream that she hadn’t yet identified. She moved on to starting a program where she began to give motivational and transformational talks. Today, she is one of the most sought motivational speakers in the world, motivating others to overcome their difficulties and pursue their dreams. She has also written many books.
SNIPPET FROM INTERVIEW:
  • Most people want the convenience of transformation and are not ready for any inconvenience.  To live out your dreams, be ready to sign up for inconveniences.

  • Be willing to completely die to any form of you that you’ve been so that you can birth the person you are becoming. In her words “Most people are too attached to who they were or who they’ve been and that’s why they won’t become who they want to be’’.

  • Don’t wait for the approval of others. We want to grow but we want to stay liked by everybody. In her words, she said: ``I’m ready to be my rescue at the risk of your approval’’ (Let that sink!)

  • Your success is on the other side of service. Your passion should not be all about money! If it all begins with money and ends with money, it will be a short-lived victory.

  • Be ready to leap, be ready to jump. When you get to the edge, your brain will always tell you to step back, be willing to listen to your soul. Your greatest fear is not that you will fall, it will be that you never lived those dreams. Give your dream a chance.

  • On a final note, the world is following your example of how you treat you! Be you, love you, say nice things about you! How you treat you, the world is going to follow!

Thanks for reading! Cheers to Living a Successful Life! Cheers to Growth!

  3. This is a very good read. "Be willing to completely die to any form of you that you’ve been so that you can birth the person you are becoming."... “Most people are attached to who they were or who they’ve been and that’s why they won’t become who they want to be’’. This is my take away.
